Well-Established Banff Trail Real Estate

Like you may have guessed, Banff Trail was named after the town of Banff (which takes its name from Banffshire, Scotland!) The community is located North of the Trans-Canada Highway, which connects Calgary to Banff National Park. Crowchild Trail forms its Western border.

The community of Banff trail is primarily residential in nature. It is made up of mostly semidetached and single detached homes, with a growing number of infill developments. Apartment housing is also available in abundance. Most of these original structures were built in the 1950s.

Located along the C-train route, Banff trail is amongst a number of important institutions and facilities in Calgary. Residents in the area have the advantage of being served by two C-train stations – Banff Trail Station and University Station. The University of Calgary and McMahon Stadium are situated immediately east of the community, while SAIT is located near the southeastern border – highly accessible by train. The North Hill Centre Mall is also located along the southeastern corner of the neighbourhood, providing services such as grocery stores, doctor’s offices, and an array of shopping opportunities. The Brentwood Shopping Complex is located immediately north of Banff Trail, which is a single train stop away. The Confederation Golf Course is found immediately to the north, offering wide open green spaces.

One of the oldest community associations in Calgary calls Banff Trail their home. Established in the 1950s, the Banff Trail Community Association remains highly active today. In the winter, they run two volunteer skating rinks and hold shinny games. In the summer, they maintain a baseball diamond for residents to enjoy. The association also initiated a community garden in 2010, engaging a large portion of the community.

Two schools serve the community of Banff Trail: Branton Bilingual Junior High and William Aberhart Bilingual Senior High Public Schools. Louis Riel Public Library is located close by the southeastern corner of the community.
